Welcome to “And Sew It Began – Pieceful Stitches,” the first Texas quilting retreat venue nestled in the heart of historic LaPorte, TX. Whether it be sewing, quilting, scrapbooking, or other crafting, this is the place that can offer you the room and comfort to create something beautiful. You’ll be treated to a spacious new state of the art studio with great lighting, design walls, and comfortable chairs. If that’s not enough, this quaint little home is less than 2 blocks away from your very own "personal" quilt shop. Our shop loves to cater to your special requests.
Enjoy stepping back in time and experiencing the character of a 1913 Sears kit house. Each bedroom room is decorated in a different theme and there’s a cozy living room with a fireplace for when you just want to chill out and read a book. A full kitchen is at your disposal and the large dining area can seat your entire group. If cooking is not your thing, plenty of gourmet restaurants are right around the corner.
Nothing recharges your batteries like spending uninterrupted, quality time with your best friends, doing what you love.

Featherweight Maintenance - Do you own a Featherweight Sewing Machine? Do you want to sew with your precious Featherweight? Haven't used it in years? Want to learn to maintain it yourself? This is the class for you. Featherweight Maintenance Spa Day! In this hands-on class you will learn how to service your Featherweight sewing machine yourself. You will develop the skill set to clean, oil, and grease the proper locations to keep your machine running in tip top shape. You will also learn some tricks to sewing with your machine and gain confidence in using it on a regular basis, if you so desire. You will feel empowered and ready for your next quilt or project. We will practice your new skill set so you are comfortable enough to start piecing a quilt top or your next sewing adventure. At the end, if time permits, we will review the accessories/feet that came with your machine as well. This will prepare you for a Part 2 class in the future. Minimum of 8 students required for the class to be held. Cancellations within 72 hours of the class are not available for a refund or store credit. Cancellations made 72 hours prior to class may receive a store credit.
