Accommodations

Pieceful Stitches is a 2300 sq. ft. Sear’s kit house that was moved to its present location about 1935. There is a den, dining room, 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. One of the bedrooms is located downstairs and the other three bedrooms are located upstairs.

The house has been completely renovated with new electric and new plumbing and it has central air conditioning and heating. We have done extensive work throughout the house from the walls to the floors and we hope you enjoy your stay here. The house will accommodate 16 people.

The kitchen has also been totally redone with new cabinets, farm sink, countertops and back splash and has complimentary new appliances, which include a gas stove with a double oven, microwave, dishwasher and a full size side-by-side refrigerator with an ice maker.

We also have several small appliances to compliment the kitchen; these include a crockpot, toaster, blender, griddle and a hand mixer. We have one Bunn coffee pot for the house and a Keurig pot for the craft room, we do supply coffee for the house.

Each of our bedrooms has a theme and appropriate quilts for its theme. Towels, linens and 2 pillows are provided for each guest. At this time we do not supply hair dryers.

Our bedrooms: Beginning with the master, which is our only downstairs bedroom, has an “Americana” theme and will accommodate 4. It has it’s own private bathroom with a step-in shower.

Upstairs we have our “red and white” themed bedroom and it has 3 twin beds with its own private bathroom.

Right across the hall is the back bedroom that has a “30’s” theme and has 4 twin beds and its own private bathroom. This bathroom has a bathtub/shower.

Our last bedroom, has a “reproduction” quilt theme and has 4 twin beds with its private bathroom as well with a bathtub/shower.

One last special area is our “sleeping porch” that was entirely closed in some time ago but has a charm completely of its own. It is a cozy area with one twin bed, located downstairs right off the kitchen area accented in windows.

The crafting area is 864 sq. ft. of space with a small kitchenette area with a sink, an 18cf refrigerator with an icemaker, and a Keurig coffee pot. Should you want to use the Keurig, you will need to bring your choice of coffee/tea. We have installed extra lighting and extra floor plugs and wall outlets for ease of plugging of your electric lines. Each person will have 2, 4x2 tables and a nice new comfy executive rolling chair. For the crafter’s convenience there is a half bathroom located in the room as well as design walls, ironing station and cutting station.

Parking

When staying at the retreat house we have a shared driveway with 2 sets of neighbors (one in the blue house and one in the garage apartment behind the blue house). Please be considerate when parking, we can accommodate 4 cars easily in the driveway back to back.

I recommend that upon arrival that you unload your “goods” and then move your car to the parking lot directly behind the house. There is a very nice paved lot and it is very well lighted and has easy access to the back of the craft room. This lot belongs to the church in front of the house and the city. You can enter via the gate.

Then, when departing you can do the same thing.

We hope you enjoy your stay!
