Sewing Suspicions - Mystery Quilt Class

We are hosting a mystery - This is a 3 day mystery class that will be held in the store. This is a fun event as no one knows what the quilt will look like until the end! The quilt is 4 fabrics light, medium, dark, and border fabric and the finished size before borders is 50" x 64". If you want help on picking out fabric, Jaelyn will be in the store Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday to assist with fabric selections. There is prep work which is cutting out the fabric before the event. Please see the fabric requirements and cutting instructions down below.


Cutting Instructions:

*It helps to keep the cuts together that are related to step 1, step 2, and step 3 in each baggy related to the step.

Step 1 – Cutting

Light Fabric

• 2 strips 12 ½” - 14 rectangles (3 ½” x 12 ½”)
• 2 strips 4 ½” - 12 squares (4 ½”)
• 5 strips 3 ½” - 52 squares (3 ½”)
• 1 strip 2 ½” - 16 squares (2 ½”)
• Cut 2 more 2 ½” squares out of the leftover pieces from above

• 3 strips 4 ½” - 24 squares (4 ½”)
• 6 strips 1 ½” - 160 squares (1 ½”)

• 2 strips 4 ½” - 12 squares (4 ½”)
• 5 strips 2 ½” - 80 squares (2 ½”)
• 5 strips 1 ½” - 80 rectangles (1 ½” x 2 ½”)

• 5 strips 2" - 96 squares (2")

• 5 strips 3 ½” - 96 rectangles (2" x 3 ½”)

• 2 strips 10 ½” - 31 rectangles (2 ½” x 10 ½”)
• 1 strip 3 ½” - 12 squares (3 ½”)

• 2 strips 2 ½” - 20 squares (2 ½”)
• 3 strips 3 7/8” - 24 squares, cut once diagonally (48 half-square triangles)

• 2 strips 4 ¼” - 12 squares, cut twice diagonally (48 quarter-square triangles)
